Gas hobs normally have four burners but if you want more, you can have them. Some gas hobs push the boundaries even further with a central wok burner (ideal if your wok is something of a fixture in your kitchen!) Most hobs that use gas tend to have the same burner configuration, that of a simmer setting in addition to the two medium settings and the large one.
We all love a gas hob. They are versatile and respond to our every demand. They are reasonably priced (especially when compared to the ‘all singing, all dancing’ induction hob!) There is the usual electric battery ignition although some models offer an automatic ignition upon turning on the burner. Many gas hobs have additional safety aspects to them such as turning off if the flame goes out which offers undoubted peace of mind.
When purchasing a new hob, with certain types it may turn out that the cooking pots you use will not be suitable so there is that consideration to bear in mind when making your choice. Happily, gas is versatile and it isn’t fussy as you can use just about any type of pot on your hob. There is a saving for a start!
