It all boils down to what type of cooker you are used to. Some people prefer the gas hob while others have always used an electric hob and would prefer that it stay that way! When thinking about purchasing a new electric hob there are one or two considerations to bear in mind!

The electric hob generally offers a similar burner configuration, that of a simmer, a fast boil and two standard heats. As time goes by, we are getting all the more with additional burners suitable for the wok or the fish kettle.
With an electric hob you get a traditional look in addition to even heat distribution through the base of your cooking pot. Cost effective to use, the electric hob conducts all the heat into the pan with red spots for extra power.
When choosing the ideal hob for you one consideration of course is the expense. With some hobs you will not be able to use any kind of cookware and in some cases you will need to spend even more money out on a new set of saucepans. Is there no end to all the spending? In an effort to keep costs down, the electric hob will not have you running back to the store for specific pans as any flat based pan is suitable. (If by some chance you already have cast iron pans, you can pat yourself on the back because these are probably the best you can use on your new electric hob!)
